  • I fell like I should just give up on this blogging thing because I really do not keep up with it.  I then think maybe a little is better than none at all.  So here goes my little.  It has really been a busy season for me.  On December 14, 2008 Trent and Jess was driving to home teams when they hit black ice and lost control and hit a concrete wall totaling my car.  It took me about two weeks but I finally purchased a new car.  On December 25, 2008, Jess and her mother were driving to Vegas to visit family, they hit black ice, went over a bridge and rolled down into a ravine.  Trent flew to Vegas to be with Jess. Jess was in ICU for 4 days, she has a broken back (2 bones at the base of her spine) and 2 bones (in her pelvis), she also has a blood clot.  They also found that she is having a problems with her heart that she may have to have surgery on at a later date, for now she is on medication and that is keeping the issue under control. Trent  was with her for a week and then they flew home.  Her mom was not able to travel for 2 weeks because she broke her C5,C6,C7, Vertebrae in her neck, they fused her bones and put in a plate in her neck.  Her mom is still in a lot of pain.  I believe in miracles, they are a miracles to be living and  walking even if Jessica is walking with a back brace and a walker.  Our God is Good, so very good.

  • Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family.  It has been a great day.  The Ficks came over, Jessica, and Trent and Aaron were home so I had a full house.  It was wonderful.  I miss Greg and Heather, and I am trying not to be too sad that they are not here.  I know that part of life is watching them grow up and leave, what I don't understand is when it will be easier.  It seems as every part of the growing up and leaving the nest is hard.  I hope that one day that it will not be so hard but today it is.  It must be how God feels.  We ignore him and do not spend time with him.  It shows you how much joy, love, laughter, sadness,  and all the other emotions that our kids bring us and our lives.  That is what God goes through with each one of us.  I hope that I bring my God happiness today.  Thank you God, for my life and all the joy that is in it.

  •  Greg and Heather came home for Thanksgiving early.  They got here on Wednesday, and we  had Thanksgiving dinner on Friday.  It was fast and furious but it was so good to see them.  I hope that we get to see them in the next few months but my fear is it could be a year.  I hope that God will provide a way for Loren and I to travel to Tulsa either in the spring or summer.  I really hope the spring.  Greg, Loren, and Trent went golfing on Friday and Greg was strung by a bee.  His face swelled up so bad that we had to take him the emergency care.  They gave him a shot in the butt.  That was funny!  I could not help myself.  The look on his face was priceless.  Yeah that's right mom was in the room.  They all went to the BSU game the next day and people kept asking "What did the other guy look like"  We were worried that he was not going to be able to travel on the plane because his face would not stop swelling.  By the time they left on Sunday afternoon you could tell that there was some improvement.
Heathers first BSU game, she was so excited, not sorry Greg was so excited.  We will make her a BSU fan yet.
It was a great time and went too fast.  I miss you both!

  • I have a few moments and thought I would take a moment to update my blog.  It has been a very busy fall, work is wearing me out.  I hope that it will calm down soon and I have a few moments to breath.  I am excited, Greg and Heather are coming home next week for an early Thanksgiving.  It will be our first family holiday together.  We are celebrating Thanksgiving twice in one month.  Yeah! My favorite meal.  They will arrive on the 5th and stay until the 9th.  I am so excited.  I have even bought their Christmas gifts for them to take back.  I am on top of things this year.  Mostly,  I am cheap and I don't want to mail them.  Greg is excited because he is going to the BSU  game.  He misses his Broncos but still watches the game every week even if he has to pay big bucks for the game.  Bronco fan all the way.

We have started a Beth Moore Bible Study called Stepping Up.  We have only started the first week but it is a such a good study already.  Thank you Becky for always getting us the best studies.

Trent ask me to drive for his first all night Jr. High Activity.  The girls were going to High School Musical 3.  I told him sure I would love to help him out.  I have to say that the movie is not my cup of tea.  It was all I could do to stay awake.  I am so glad that I had boys when there are 24 Junior High School girls hyped up on Pizza, pop, and candy.  Oh My!  I am getting old.  It was fun to be around my son and see him as a Junior High Pastor.  I am so proud of him.  I am so proud of all of my kids.  They have become such good men.  Oh and now my daughter Heather.  I pray for them because I know that Satan is trying to destroy them and if I am not careful I will become paralyzed  with fear for them.  God has given me a gift.  The gift to pray for my children, I hope that I take that seriously and never forget that they need my prayers.  It is so easy to forget because they are men and woman now, I think they need it now more than ever.

I just have to brag a little bit,  NASA ask Aaron to come and speak at a conference at the beginning of the month.  The conference was in Jackson, Wyoming.  He was able to see the Grand Tetons for the first time in his young life.  He loved every moment of the trip.  He was also able to see good friends of ours from Boise,  Dave, Isaac, and Courtney were there for a soccer tournament.  How cool is that!

Last of all Greg had 2 kids saved in his youth department this month.  Way to go Greg and Heather.  Heather took the girls on a weekend trip to Branson Mo,  on their way home she was talking with the girls and one of them ask Christ in their heart.  I don't know the story of the other student but I do know that Greg was excited to see his youth group grow spiritually by 2.  Way to go.
